How to deregister your phone number from iMessage

Apple posted a new page that will help you get away from iMessage if you no longer want to have it connected to your phone number.

As we all know, until now, if you enroll your phone number with iMessage and then you put your SIM in another (Android) phone, other can still send you messages but you will not receive them.

Apple fixed that in a way by sending iMessages as text messages if they are not delivered after a few minutes, but the solution doesn’t always work.

The new page lists two possible scenarios: one that can help you if you still have your iPhone. All you have to do is go to Settings – Messages – iMessages – OFF.

If you no longer have that iPhone, just enter your phone number in a box and get a unsubscribe confirmation code. The problem is that not all countries are included in that list so far.
