Abbyy CardHolder

This is one of those no-brainer apps that you should keep on your iPhone if you meet more than 3 people a day. In my new job I get quite a few business cards. The classic way is to write the phone numbers down in my notebook and transfer them to my iPhone at the end of the week.

Abbyy CardHolder saves me the hassle of keeping track of all those business cards and transferring the information into my iPhone and computer. Imagine the look on the face of a guy who saw me taking a picture of his business card and all the info was already in the app. Unfortunately you have to pay extra to transfer the info to the phone’s address book, but for $1.99 you get the benefit iCloud syncing to your Mac and iPad.

The app recognizes business cards in 21 languages. (Romanian is not one of them yet, but you can always edit the information, if needed.) As soon as you take the picture of the card, Abbyy CardHolder stores the data and you can instantly search the text.
