Cockatoo for iTunes – music to your… gestures

If you’re a Mac user, you don’t really bother with music players other than iTunes. I tried some of them and having everything already in iTunes just makes it easy.

Now, the problem is that iTunes is a full screen app with lots of menus and the mini player doesn’t help at all. That’s why you get in the mood for some music when you hear about an app that can control iTunes and be there for you when you need it, but magically disappear when you’re done choosing your song.

Cockatoo for iTunes is a Mac app that can be simply described as a remote. You wouldn’t pay $8.99 for just a remote, so the developers have made it a pleasure to work with it. Once you open Cockatoo you will be presented with the option to put it the left or right of the screen. I prefer the left because the right side is busy with Notifications.

When you need to control you music you just move the cursor to the left edge and you see Cockatoo. Move your cursor away and the app disappears. The interface is translucent so it blends with whatever you have opened on your screen. For me, it looks just like the picture you see on the left.
